Verkadalai chuttney / Groundnut chuttney

Just by thinking about verkadala chuttney, I feel peppy!!!  I guess its groundnut season, I could see many of pazhamudircholai shops selling bags of groundnut.  Most of you might have started gulping boiled groundnuts. The masala groundnut sold in Usman road , T.Nagar is one of my favourites , hmm.....yummy . I like to have the groundnut masala with ginger tea, they both go well with each other :)) especially for our climate now in chennai.

OK, now coming to chuttney recipe, here it goes.

Ingredients :

1) Raw Ground nut - 1 cup
2) Red chillies - 3
3) Salt  - 3/4 spoon
4) Gingelly oil - 1tsp
5)Asafetida - one pinch

Method to prepare:
Its so easy to prepare and taste so yummy!!
1) Take a frying pan, add oil, groundnuts, asafetida and redchillies.
2) Keep frying till the nuts turn medium brown.
3) Remove the pan from heat and allow it to cool.
4) Now with mixer grinder add very little water and make pulp out of the mixture.
5) Add salt and little amount of water if necessary.
6) Finish by tempering with mustard seeds.

Hurray!! Groundnut chutney is ready.

It tastes really good with Idly, Dosa, Roti and Upma :))
